Roadie/train buddy needed…….apply within

Posted: March 30, 2012 in comedy, humour, News, stand up, stand up comedy

If you had told me before my first stand up comedy performance last month that I would be writing this blog post, I would have thought you were truly mental. But, as it turns out, here I am. Since my first gig, everything has happened so fast. I never ever expected it to. I thought my progress would be more gradual and that I’d only get offered a few gigs here and there. But now I’m being offered them from all over the country.

While this is great, it does pose one small problem and that is how the fuck do I get to a gig in Bingley on a Wednesday night without any transport?! While my family and friends are more than happy to help me out when they can (which I really appreciate by the way), I couldn’t and wouldn’t expect them to do it all the time. That wouldn’t be fair on them and would get a bit awkward after a while.

This is why I quite literally need a roadie. Someone who would be available to help me to get gigs. Obviously, I’d pay someone to do this (as well as pay for travel costs). You’d get to see lots of comedy in return, visit glamorous places like London and…ermmm……Halifax  and maybe one day you can sell your story to The Sun (although it’d more likely be the Consett and Stanley Advertiser).

At the moment, I’m only getting one or two gigs out of the area every few months so it wouldn’t be that much travelling. Obviously, the hope is that I’ll get more as I get more experience.

This would probably suit someone who didn’t have full time working commitments, lives in the north east and who could give up a few evenings a month to travel with me to places. A car would be handy but not essential. It would probably also help if you liked me….

Anyway, if you are interested in helping me out and want to earn a bit of money, please contact me and we can discuss it in more detail. Please feel free to forward this on to anyone else who might be interested too.

Thanks.

I live in Portsmouth. Don’t feel sorry for me, your pity won’t help… ;) If I lived in the North-East I’d love to offer some help. Just hope someone comes forward, ‘cos you deserve it. One of our local comedy venues is The Wedgewood Rooms. Here’s hoping…

I also saw you on BBC breakfast the other morning, was laughing for an hour after. Great fun Hope you can make Bristol sometime. It’s also too far to drive to help you out re roadie. Good luck with that one.
